Anthony R. Caruso has significant experience in all types of amateur and pro sports matters including player and coach contracts, sports marketing agreements, endorsement and corporate sponsorship deals, license agreements, production and media agreements and other related matters. He is a licensed contract advisor (NFL agent) and further provides legal advice with respect to league and team franchise matters, athlete branding and trademark protection, and all aspects of sports related negotiation and deal structuring. Some representative transactions successfully concluded by Tony include:

  • Negotiated a substantial multi-year licensing and sponsorship agreement with Reebok on behalf of a professional sports league
  • Co-founded pro lacrosse league and served as legal counsel and acting commissioner
  • Handled arena and/or stadium licenses and leases on behalf of stadium owners and sports team tenants
  • Represented pro football players in the NFL
  • Founded, owned and served as legal counsel to a professional team in the United States Basketball League
  • Served as legal counsel to a pro sports league
  • Handled the purchase and sale of pro sports teams
  • Represented NBA Hall of Fame member and Olympic swimmer in endorsement deals
  • Represented licensee in an art media deal with a MLB Hall of Fame member

Most recently he appeared on several television newscasts including FOX Business Network, and several radio shows including Wall Street Journal Radio and 1010WINS, providing legal commentary on the MLB/ Alex Rodriguez arbitration, Tom Brady/New England Patriots scandal and pro sports contract issues.
